- July, 2010: MA Health Care Training Forum (MTF) meetings are held in Taunton, Holyoke, Tewksbury, Boston, and Shrewsbury. Meetings run from 9:00am - 12:00pm and complimentary lunch is provided. The July meeting highlights include updates from MassHealth, Health Care For All, Commonwealth Care and Virtual Gateway. There will also be information on the Commonwealth Care Bridge Program, the MassHealth MCO Program and MassHealth Senior Care Options. More information.

Grant Opportunities:
- CVS Caremark Charitable Trust – Community Grants
The CVS Caremark Community Grants program provides funding to programs focusing on children with disabilities and that build skills, capabilities, and create opportunities for success among these children. Specific areas of interest include: health and rehabilitation services, public schools promoting greater levels of inclusion in student activities and extracurricular activities, and projects that increase access to physical activity. Proposals focusing on administering healthcare services to uninsured communities are also accepted. Grants range from $10,000 to $50,000 for one-year support. Nonprofit organizations are eligible to apply.

- Department of Health and Human Services – Street Outreach Program Grants: The purpose of the Street Outreach Program is to assist runaway, homeless, and street youth in making healthy decisions concerning where they live and how they behave. Deadline: July 19, 2010.
- Hiring Incentive Training Grant Program (HITG) has been reactivated through June 30, 2010. More information.
- The New Hampshire Children's Trust Fund – Child Abuse Prevention Program Grants (New Hampshire):
The New Hampshire Children’s Trust Fund works in partnership with child abuse prevention programs across New Hampshire to keep children safe and families strong. Deadline: August 20, 2010.
- Robert Wood Johnson Foundation – Active Living Research: Building Evidence To Prevent Childhood Obesity. The purpose of the grant is to support research to inform policy and environmental strategies for increasing physical activity among children and adolescents, decreasing their sedentary behaviors and preventing obesity. The program places emphasis on reaching children and youths who are at highest risk for obesity: Black, Latino, American Indian and Asian/Pacific Islander children, as well as children who live in under-resourced and lower-income communities. A total of up to $1.5 million will be awarded. The maximum award for a single grant is $150,000. Preference will be given to applicants who are either public entities or 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations. Applicant organizations must be based in the United States or its territories. Deadline: July 1, 2010
- Ronald McDonald House Charities – Youth Health and Well-being Grants. Ronald McDonald House Charities invites applications for their Youth Health and Well-being grant program. Programs must be national or global in reach. Successful proposals will directly improve the health and well-being of children, address a funding gap or critical opportunity, produce measurable results, and be sustainable. Grant amounts vary. Nonprofit organizations are eligible to apply. Deadline: September 7, 2010
- Do Something – BIC 4 Good Grants. BIC 4 Good Grants are targeted towards established programs and organizations that have a large impact, proven sustainability, and measurable success. Applicants should be self-driven, unique, and community-oriented with measurable impact. Ten outstanding projects or organizations will be awarded $2,000 grants and one exceptional project or organization will be awarded the Grand Prize of $5,000. Applicants must be 25 years or under and a US or Canadian citizen. Deadline: Rolling
- Build-A-Bear Workshop Bear Hugs Foundation – Champion Fur Kids Health and Wellness Grants. Build-A-Bear Workshop is offering grants to directly support children in the areas of health and wellness such as childhood disease research foundations, child safety organizations and organizations that serve children with special needs. Grants ranging from $1,000 to $10,000 will be awarded. Nonprofit organizations are eligible to apply. Deadline: Rolling
